Overview

Hike up Turkey Hill to get a beautiful view of the vast landscape of Harriman State Park.

Description

Locate the trailhead towards the end of the parking lot. The trail starts out mostly flat, but later turns rocky; nevertheless, it's a pretty easy hike up the hill. The entire route follows the Long Path. At around 0.3 miles, there's an intersection with the Popolopen Gorge Trail, but continue on the Long Path. After around a half a mile, the trail turns right, then immediately turns sharply left going up Turkey Hill. The summit offers a beautiful vista of Turkey Pond Lake, Bear Mountain, and West Point.
