Need to Know

After rain, this trail can get really muddy.

Description

From Quarry Trail, take switchbacks 0.25 miles to climb to the top of Park Ridge. At the top of the trail, the flora changes from scrub brush to grassland and the trail narrows. Continuing down the back of the ridge yields great views of Morro Bay and Los Osos Valley. The trail is moderately graded and has mostly good flow; although, it gets narrow and rutted in spots.

To get to the trail, starting from Quarry Trail, turn right and uphill. Continue and uphill (switchbacks) for 0.2 miles. At 0.5 miles, stay straight passing a junction with Park Ridge Trail. Continue downhill until the trail dead-ends at Live Oak Trail.

Parking is at either trailhead on S Bay Blvd.
