To get to this trail, you'll need to go west along the paved 40 mile loop trail from the parking area. The trail is easy and paved, making it a nice pathway for all ages. The trail heads southwest along a peninsula that juts out between the two lakes in Smith and Bybee Wetlands Natural Area, but isn't so close to the water's edge to offer great views most of the time. You'll be able to utilize a viewpoint about a third of the way along at the intersection for the Smith Lake Loop Trail. A few good views of Bybee Lake can be had farther along the trail and from a platform at the very end. Take the Smith Lake Loop Trail for a nice view of Smith Lake as well.
