Description

There is a small parking lot for roughly 10 vehicles where you find a clearly marked trailhead that will start you on journey. Things start off easy and flat until you reach the Bear Creek about 0.25 miles in. Here you'll need to ford your way through the river which, depending on rain fall and or snow melt, can sometimes, though rarely, be challenging.

After the crossing the river, the trail is not marked well so be sure to bear right and stay between the barbed wire fences on either side until you reach the Patch Ridge Wilderness at the 0.5 mile point where the marking improves dramatically. Shortly thereafter, you'll cross the paved access road before connecting to Bear Canyon Trail #29.
