Need to Know
There are restrooms, picnic tables and a hand water pump for animals at Farles Prairie Recreation Area.
Description
An easy singletrack trail with a few roots and downed logs crossing the trail. The ground is dry and mostly pine needles/sand. There is ample parking at the S.R. 19 Trailhead, with a fair number of campers and Scout troops on weekends. Deer are a common sight on this trail.
Orange blazes clearly mark this trail. The trail crosses several dirt roads, so be aware of traffic when crossing. The trail intersects with Buck Lake Loop Trail. Farles Lake has bathroom facilities, picnic tables and a grill area. There is also a hand pump well for drawing water for horses or dogs.
The trail is soft pine needles and sand, mostly singletrack through scrub oaks and pine trees.
