Need to Know
Water depth around the falls is too shallow to swim. Stream crossings have bridges.
Description
From the Slacks Overlook parking area, head southwest, slowly descending through the forest on the White Rock Falls Trail #482. Within a couple hundred feet, you'll cross the drainage on a wooden bridge to continue parallel to the stream and lose more elevation as the water begins to gain speed toward the upper falls.
The falls are relatively small and dependent on the time of year and recent rainfall.
Around the 0.6-mile mark, the trail makes its first switchback to negotiate the steeper slope with a spur out toward the upper falls area. The next 0.5-mile section of the main trail is by far the steepest but is the only way to continue downslope as the rocky stream bed is much too steep and technical to follow.
At the 1.25-mile mark, the trail crosses the stream once again at the low point of the trail, before starting a gradual climb south and east to return to the BRP at the White Rocks Gap parking area.
Flora & Fauna
