This trail starts at the Grandpa Tree Trail. Just follow the path as it winds its way past the intersection with Grandpa Tree Trail. After this, the trail will begin its descent to the bottom of the kettle. A kettle is where the out wash of a glacier (from long, long ago), has left a depression in the ground, where 'dead ice' has slowly melted. After a few dozen yards, you'll start gradually climbing out of the kettle.

There are many pines, ferns, and berries along the trail.
