On leaving Hizha Ribni Ezera, follow the orange (faded red?) blazed trail on that stays on the east side of the lake. Much of the first 2.5 km is roughly downhill over mildly swampy terrain, so be careful if you choose this route in the spring.

After a brief climb and then a descent, you reach a creek crossing. From there, you start climbing, first gradually then steeper over grassy terrain. The first part of the climb in punctuated with large bushes, but soon you are above them. The terrain evens out for a bit as you traverse further to the west before you climb again to reach the ridge.

After a brief section on the ridge, the main trail avoids climbing to the peak of Voden Chal (2688m) before regaining the ridge. There are some technical rocky section before you arrive at the steep downhill. There are loose rocks and dirt to contend with so take your time.

As you descend, you'll notice the trail seems to end in a rock face with a orange blaze; when you arrive, climb the face (maybe 4 feet) and continue on the trail as it weaves between the pines. As you continue to descend, you'll reach Kolbino Branishte shelter that is located in a beautiful valley with the south faces of the Malyovitsa Massif rising to the north.
