Description

This is perhaps the most spectacular trail in the Eagle Cap Wilderness. It can be accessed either from the Lake Basin Moccasin Trail #1810A or the West Fork Wallowa River Trail #1820 at Frazier Lake. The trail out of the Lake Basin climbs to Glacier Pass at 8,450' on moderately strenuous switchbacks. There are several great campsites at the lake with Glacier Peak and Eagle Cap looming to the west. The trail from Glacier Lake to Frazier is steady descent following the West Fork of the Wallowa River. This section is quite rocking and cautious choices of footings make for a longer trip than expected.
