Plenty of great little cafes are located up the road in Cambria if you'd like to finish your hike with a cup of coffee and your breakfast of choice.

Spanning from the El Colibri Hotel on its eastern end to Leffingwell Landing State Park in the north, this boardwalk follows the bluffs above Moonstone Beach, passing numerous little seaside inns along the way.

While enjoyed all times of day, most people can be found hiking along the Moonstone Beach Boardwalk in the morning, often with a mug of coffee in hand and little Fido in tow. Expect to see a mix of both locals out for their daily walks, as well as tourists passing through on a journey along Highway 1.

Parking is located at numerous pullouts along Moonstone Drive, but get there early as they often fill up with all manner of RVs and pickup trucks carrying surfers. Don't be surprised if you find yourself exiting your car to find a surfer grunting and heaving himself into a sticky wetsuit, the neoprene still damp from the day before.

The American Dog Tick can often hang out on plants in this area, so it's not a bad idea to take preventative measures and do a tick check when you get home.
