Most of the trail is on roads not heavily frequented by traffic.

Many AT hikers stop in Buena Vista for supplies and a break. This road is not heavily used by vehicles and can provide an easy down hike for through-hikers on the AT. There is a city run campground along the Maury River for people looking to camp. This particular path is not something I would recommend as an end in itself, however it does provide a good connector between the AT and the town of Buena Vista.
