Description

This is the more gradual alternative to Blue Lakes Track to reach a viewpoint of the Tasman Glacier—at least what is left as the glacier is melting fast—and Mt. Cook. From the car park, you'll hike past the Blue Lakes Track heading south and then turning to the north and east to hike out toward Tasman Lake. The trail ends at a viewpoint on the moraine wall. From here, you'll have views of Tasman Lake and the lower part of the Tasman Glacier with the mountains in the background. Iceburgs can usually be seen in the lake as well.
