Need to Know

After the flooding in early 2018, some of this area has been in rough shape. As of December 2018, the river crossings are a bit more treacherous; some of the rocks are no longer there and one must ford the river of knee high water. A few sections of trail have washed down the ridge. The first crossing that was a scramble across big roots, is gone. Now one must walk across the exposed rock and up the side of the hill, which is very narrow and slippery mud.

Description

This is a easy trail at about 1.1 miles (a round-trip distance of 2.2 miles). Use the parking area for Big Bradley Falls on the left side of the road or the smaller one on the right side of the road which is where the trail begins.

The Little Bradley Falls Trail follows red blazes. From the start, the trail veers away from Cove Creek as it follows the contour of the hillside. Eventually, the trail dips back down to the creek where you'll have three wet creek crossings before reaching the Little Bradley Falls in just over a mile.

The trail is classic NC style with occasional mud and slick rocks. The creek crossings can be challenging if you want to keep your feet dry. Rocks can be slick around the waterfall. Overall, the trail is good singletrack hiking.

Flora & Fauna

Rhododendrons, mountain laurels, hemlocks, maples and oaks. Birds and squirrels .

A little uneven and quite a few creeks to cross but well worth the trip. Bring water shoes to enjoy the cool pool of the Falls.
