Description
From the parking lot, head north along the lakeshore. From here, the trail is pretty straightforward as it travels along the edge of the lake. Along the way, there are multiple spots to slip into the water or stop for a break. For the first few miles, the only time you leave the shore is to avoid the campgrounds that are on the peninsulas.
Eventually, the trail rounds the final peninsula and you begin to head south. Soon, the bay to your left slowly shrinks to the size of a small creek. From here, the trail rises and carves its way through the hills.
As you close in on the end of the trail you'll cross a few horse trails. Things get a bit complicated as you come toward Cove Road and the trail turns west. The Badin
Lake Trail splits around the campground. Stay to the left for the most direct line, and soon you'll be back where you started.
