The trails in Mt. Airy are subject to close during hunting season with select trails open Tuesdays and Wednesdays. For more information on current closures, click here.

Description

Starting at the intersection of A Trail, begin your descent into the Mount Airy Woods; this trail is irregularly blazed in white but is well travelled, and is one of the longest individual trails in the forest. Along this trail, you'll pass over the famous Stone Steps Trail and cross the Oak Ridge House.

After you go about two miles in, the trail begins to get rocky and becomes a bit of a challenge, but it is more than worth it! Pay attention as you cross other trails as they are numerous and not well marked.
