Description
Despite being called a road, this is no more than a leaf-covered path through the woods.
Starting from the
Hammond Trail, cross the road and enter the woods at the Bolles Preserve sign. The trail comes out to a field and continues straight. Right before the trail enters the woods, the
Heron Pond (XC) Trail is on the left; continue straight on the main trail as it travels through the Scott Preserve to a little after it's junction at "the triangle", the intersection with
Middle (XC) Trail. Take a right to stay on Old Mail (XC) Road.
From here, the trail climbs through the Bolles Reserve to Blacky's Flats. The trail takes a left at the crest of the hill and enters the Clark Reserve. In a short distance left, the
Highland Trail jogs off to the right. The trail is somewhat difficult to follow through this next section to it's junction with the
Hunter's Trail (on right). In a short distance, the
Bickford Heights Trail will be on the left. The trail continues to a logging area where there is a kiosk, then continues south to the road.
