Description
Most of the trail going to the Machine Falls runs along the center of a ridge and is very manageable. Keep in mind this section of the trail system is very popular for those hiking to the falls since it is the most direct trail to the falls.
At the end of the ridge, you'll come to a quick descent on rocks and some wooden steps. When you get down to the bottom, hike past the wooden bridge and continue up the river bed to see Machine Falls (which can not be seen from the bridge).
When you are done enjoying Machine Falls, head back to the bridge and cross over to the slow hill that will take you back up to the opposite ridgeline. As you follow this trail back to the parking lot, there is a short side trail that will take you to the top of the falls. This trail can have a lot of roots and loose rocks, so watch your footing as you slowly make your way back up to the parking lot.
