Description
From the trailhead at the parking lot in John Bryan State Park, wind your way along the banks of the Little Miami, with occasional views of the surrounding cliffs above (though those do not become visible for some time on the trail). Plenty of wash crossings and opportunities to take a rest on a fallen log to simply watch the water flow can be had along this trail.
At the end of the trail, you'll be connecting with the
John L. Rich Trail and the South Gorge Trail at the footbridge. You can turn around and head back the way you came, or make the climb up and connect with the
North Rim Trail, which will take you back into John Bryan State Park (you'll have to find your way back via the connecting roads).
Flora & Fauna
Ferns, mixed hardwoods, spring wildflowers, deer, ducks, heron, and red-bellied woodpeckers occupy this area.
