Description
The Millennium Trail at Bernheim is the longest and most difficult trail in the park. Please be sure to register at the visitor center before beginning the hike. This trail is recommended for experienced hikers only, primarily due to the endurance required for the full trail.
The dirt trail winds through oak-hickory forest through valleys/streams to beech-maple forest. The trail includes steep slopes, creek crossings, and challenging terrain. The trail can be done clockwise (yellow rectangle blazes) or counter clockwise (yellow triangle blazes). Gates with blazes mark the entrance to either side of the trail. The most convenient start is via Gorilla Loop Rd.
Flora & Fauna
Ticks, poison ivy, snakes.
