Overview

This is a really nice, peaceful hike on a trail with very little use. The trail is well constructed, maintained, and marked. This mapping shows it as a full out-and-back, but the trail can be started from either end and made as long or as short of an out-and-back as you want. Most of it is singletrack except for about a 1-mile section on a gravel road that has no traffic.

Description

There are a couple of climbs to start. There are some stairs and switchbacks to get up those climbs but none are too long and most are manageable. The gravel road section (about one mile) has very little elevation change. After the gravel road, the remainder of the trail is mostly rolling singletrack. There is not much for views on this trail. It's built on the edge of the Greenville Watershed.

The trailhead on Mountain Page Rd/Saluda Rd is right on the NC/SC line. It has a small parking area across the road, big enough for 6-8 cars, and is never full.

If starting on the other end, the official parking is a half-mile down a paved road, but there is enough room to park a couple of cars right at the start of the trail on Old Hwy 25.
