Description

This trail is marked by a red blaze. It is a moderate trail with 440-foot climb connecting the Shore Trail on the Hudson riverside to the Long Path: Section 1 at the top of the Palisades. The trail starts out as a wood road, but after crossing the Henry Hudson Drive it becomes a singletrack.

In the past, the road was used by farmers in NJ to get their produce down to the riverside docks. In November of 1776, the British used the trail to bring troops to the top as they pursued Washington's retreat across NJ.
