Description
This trail starts off deceptively easy beginning on a paved surface, but quickly turns the corner and descends to the creek far below. The surface is new, but the path is steep and causes a nice leg burn. This short leg leads to the bridge to Rose Island, the abandoned ruins of an old amusement park that was destroyed in the 1937 flood. Finishing the loop, the paved trail is now mostly singletrack. It’s very rough and this section is not suitable for strollers or people with footing issues. It works it way along the creek for a while before beginning the climb back up through the woods and to the parking lot. Overall, the trail is a great hike.
