Description

This short trail connects Basalt Mt. Road (Forest Route 524) to the main Ditch Trail.

It begins 1.7 miles up Basalt Mt. Road (Forest Route 524) from the trailhead. A signed doubletrack goes off to the left. After about 25 yards of doubletrack hiking, a faint (but signed) singletrack heads straight ahead. The first 0.25 miles is nice, if a bit overgrown.

At that point, the trail steepens as it heads down the hillside. After 0.2 miles of steep descending the side of the ridge, you hit the final 0.15 miles in the creek bottom. The final 25 yards or so are actually in the creek bed. The trail ends at an intersection with the main Ditch Trail.
