Description

This is an alternative way to connect to the Haines Canyon Motorway or continue on to Mt. Lukens. Climbing up this trail is very strenuous, certainly one of the more difficult climbs in the front range of the San Gabriels.

It's steep and quite exposed in some portions and some sections are particularly strenuous. Some switchbacks will be very hard to clear or just not possible even for advanced hikers. Common descriptions of this climb might be "inhumane," "sufferfest," and "terrible." But sometimes, a good sufferfest is just what you need and the views from this trail are incredible!

This trail starts at a junction on Le Mesnager Loop Trail in Dukmejian Wilderness Park.
