Description

This trail starts out at the Millennium Grove Picnic Area near the Camp Glen and equine portions of the park. This is a multi-use trail for both bikes and those on foot. The trail moves through a variety of vegetation including dense wooded areas, open prairie grasses, and wetlands. Depending on time of year, you'll see plenty of wildflowers, cattails and other vegetation throughout the hike.

The trail switches back and forth and includes many small streams. It is very well maintained with some signage and bridges over the streams. Bikes on this trail are expected to ride one-way while hikers can go either direction. If you take the trailhead to the left from the parking area, you'll be hiking into the bike traffic and will be able to see them coming towards you. The other direction will have the bikes coming up behind you. As Ft. Harrison was formerly an army base, you'll also see some large concrete structures and footings from building long gone that remind you of the historical significance of the area.

Flora & Fauna

Deer, raccoon and other small animals can possibly be seen while hiking this trail.

Old trails connect to main trail making it easy to get disoriented or shorten distance of hike. AVOID HOT HUMID DAYS. 3.4mi
