Description
Khao Sok National Park is an amazing refuge for virgin tropical rainforest. Though it's hard to fact-check, it's often said that this park alone is more diverse than the Amazon Basin Rainforest. Whether that's true or not, it's certainly an indication of the kind of biodiversity in the area.
This trail splits off from the
Khao Sok Main Trail, heading south and crossing the Sok River. There is much more elevation on this trail, so be prepared with good hiking boots! There are also many beautiful flowers along this path, though their prevalence depends on the season.
This trail can also be quite confusing, since there are many branches off and alternate ways. If you find yourself on the
Orchid Trail Alternate Route, don't fear! You'll end up at the same place eventually—on the road that leads to the park. It is an easy hike into town.
This trail can also be used as an access point to the other trails and Visitor Center by hiking from the road into the park.
