Description

This is an easy trail extending South to North along the eastern boundary of the Granite Mountain Preserve and along (not surprisingly) 136th Street.

The trail is almost flat as a pancake but it seems like you are always turning one way or another. Very subtly, you'll gain elevation as you head South, but it's nearly imperceptible.

By heading down the edge of the preserve, you'll have many options to connect with the other trails in the system, such as Morning Vista, Dixlieta, Turpentine, Bootlegger, Cow Poke, Barb's and Hawknest Trail.

Along the way you're likely to pass by lots of cactus and desert vegetation including Saguaro, Cholla, Barrel and Staghorn cacti. You'll surely pass by plenty of critters too, as it's possible to see Roadrunners, Coyotes, Rattlesnakes and Scorpions in this area.
