No permits necessary to cross the Shasta Dam, but there is a full time guard who will ask for ID, and the road is closed 10pm-6am.

Description

This route is a nice trail along the banks of Lake Shasta. The trail can be skinny in places with big exposure. There are lots of up and downs with some tight corners. You can link this trail to others in the OHV area, or you can hike the trail as an out-and-back.
