Description

The Gold Dust Trail (#698) begins on Boreas Pass Road and ends on Pine Street a mile outside of Como, Colorado. The trail begins 10 miles up Boreas Pass Road from Como on the west side of the road at a post and brown carsonite #698 marker.

The initial 1.5 mile descent from Boreas Pass Road to N. Tarryall Creek Road (Forest Road 801) is identified on USGS maps as "Old Boreas Pass Wagon Road". This is a fun, and at times, rocky descent.

Cross N. Tarryall Creek Road slightly uphill and continue on singletrack, cross a creek then the trail levels off with a much more gradual downhill slope. This is followed by a short descent to Park County Road 50. Cross the road and continue on singletrack near a utility pedestal, through the wetlands and across several timber foot bridges.

The trail climbs and descends for another 4.2 miles, finishing with a winding aspen singletrack to Pine Street. (Note there is a trail junction 0.5 miles beyond the foot bridges. Bear left at this junction, staying on the main trail.) Gold Dust Trail ends on the gravel Pine Street. Turn right and head a mile down to Como.
