Description

This trail starts on Deer Springs Road just west of the Deer Spring Fence. It follows an old road up Pole Canyon for about one mile, until the road becomes washed out. At this point, the trail follows near the bottom of the canyon on an extremely steep (15%) grade.

From this steep section, the trail continues, passing aspens and eventually hits the junction with Doe Canyon Trail. The path crosses Pole Canyon to the left side and later crosses back to the right side. After crossing an open meadow, the trail switchbacks up the top of the ridge. Shortly after, the trail comes to a junction with the South Mountain Trail.
