Overview
An amazing and challenging hike up to the summit of Mt. Sinai.
Description
The hike initially follows the road to the monastery (south). This section is almost flat and the landscape becomes increasingly more impressive. After the monastery, the trail becomes slightly steeper and later, steeper yet. Note that there is also a winding track (which is widely used by tourists and pilgrims) that is easier, but longer. I have marked a somewhat shorter route that I found better suited to me and allows you to save some time on the way up. Once at the top, allow yourself enough time to marvel at the majestic vistas. There is an Orthodox Chapel on the summit as well.
