Description

This trail is mostly unmaintained singletrack that crosses the lower face of Jughandle Mountain to connect the dirt road through Jug Meadows to Louie Lake. The south trailhead is not marked. The north trailhead by Louie Lake is obvious, just hike across the dam, and you are on the trail. There's one steep pitch on the south end, but it's short and the rest of the trail is pretty typical of the area (ups and downs, rocks, and roots).

The old climbers trail for Jug peak branches off of the Jug-a-Lou Trail near the south end of Louie Lake.
