Features River/Creek

Family Friendly Kids will enjoy exploring the area with views of the Missouri River and lots of deer and wildlife.

Flooding in 2011 weakened the trees around the trail. Use caution and avoid the area during storms or high winds.

Description

The Lake Manawa State Park Trail is located below the southwest edge of the lake. The trailhead is marked by signs and located near the Missouri River boat ramp area and parking.

The current trail was redesigned and rebuilt almost completely from the ground up after flooding in 2011. Both the west and east sections of the trail are open and expansions are continuing. The trail is mostly flat singletrack with some areas of sand and a few tree roots.

This is an excellent area to explore in the winter, too.
