This is a trail in Addicks Reservoir that is not maintained. Please comply with Corps of Engineers' regulations by not disturbing the ground or vegetation. Refer to the “Addicks Reservoir” page for area-wide information.

Description

This unmaintained trail has about the same elevation as North Eldridge Parkway but is isolated by low ground on each end, limiting its utility. There is a row of trees between the trail and the traffic, reducing the noise level.

The north end of the trail is accessed from the Miles Trail entrance on the east side of North Eldridge Parkway just south of Patterson Road. There is a ditch with some debris that can enable a dry crossing if it hasn't rained for a while. The tree-lined trail is wide and clear running to the south.

The elevated trail ends just short of the entrance to the shooting range. Note: The shooting range is located east and south of the end of the trail. Do not stray into the shooting range. The trail dead-ends at the south, though it is usually possible to cross the borrow ditch and climb over the guard rail to get to the shoulder of north-bouth Eldridge. From there, it is about 3/8 of a mile to the top of the dam.

Be prepared for mosquitoes.

This trail parallels the original Addicks-Fairbanks Road.
