Description
The
Purple Trail is a wonderful hike through the woods. It is an easy, leisurely trail with much to see. Park in the first parking lot off of the 4790 Frytown Rd. entrance. Follow the "Argonne Forest" signs. The trail winds its way through the developed and historical Argonne Forest, allowing you to see its abandoned amusement park features. These features include a nice old stone work bridge, as well as a dance floor, and the remnants of an old pool. You'll also enjoy views of a small stream and marsh.
Flora & Fauna
Tons of bugs make this an excellent trail for exploring the bottom of the food chain for the little ones. This trail provides perfect habitat for many warblers, thrushes, and smaller birds of prey.
