Description
Restoration Way (RW) trail is a rugged trail accessible at the west end of the Friedrich Wilderness Park trail system. Restoration Way can be accessed at its north or south end from
Vista Loop Trail off Mail
Loop Trail.
RW is approximately 3.0 miles end to end with ascents and descents though hilly, scrubby woodlands and grassy areas. Juniper, Crepe Myrtle, Live Oak, Hackberry, Persimmon, Cedar Elm, and Red bud trees shade hikers throughout route.
The north end of trail is at the base of the Cielo Vista neighborhood. Large boulders and rocks will have to be overcome at different locations throughout path. At the 0.3-mi mark, the
Mill Pass Trail cuts across this loop shortening the distance of RWQ. The
Mill Pass Trail has a windmill near its mid-point.
Flora & Fauna
Juniper, Crepe Myrtle, Live Oak, Spanish Oak, Hackberry, Persimmon, Cedar Elm, and Red Bud trees. White tail deer, brown and black squirrels, lizards, snakes, birding.
