The two trailheads are paid parking lots inside the Folsom Lake State Recreation Area, so make sure to bring cash to self pay.

Description

This trail can be most easily accessed from two major parking areas: Mormon Island Cove to the west or Browns Ravine to the east. It is used abundantly and legally by those on foot, horseback, and bike. Depending on where you start, you can do an out and back route or connect side use trails to make a unique loop. When the water level in Folsom Lake is low enough, you can hike onto a peninsula formerly known as Mormon Island. Also check out the scenic creek that empties into the lake near Browns Ravine.

Flora & Fauna

This trail is shaded by an oak woodland, with abundant tree squirrels and woodpeckers.
