Description
This trail starts at the T-intersection just past the Hotel Alyeska. They've worked on a new section of trail and covered it with wood chips. Follow this trail and stay right on the dirt road. After heading uphill for a bit, watch for a trail to the right.
There's not an obvious sign, but it's an obvious trail. This connects you to the actual
Winner Creek Trail, where you'll hang a left and continue up a short incline. After that, the trail is fairly level, and there's a long section of planks with steps.
After the plank section, you'll come to an intersection. Go right on the
Upper Winner Creek Trail it becomes slightly more technical with tricky footing over large rocks, roots, and obstacles! The Girdwood Parks and Rec. is workin on a bridge. ***the hand tram is permanently closed.
This is a popular trail with other pedestrians and bikers so be aware of other visitors and moose too!
