Description
To get to the Orange Trail, you'll have to hike the
Yellow Trail so come prepared to add an additional 1.5 miles and approximately 350 feet of climbing to get to the beginning of the Orange Trail. The Orange Trail branches off of the southern end of the
Yellow Trail and can be taken in either direction.
Heading counterclockwise, the trail will start with a winding descent, contouring above Sweetwater Creek. Enjoy peeking through the trees for views from high above the mile-long stretch of whitewater rapids (up to class IV+) of Sweetwater Creek.
After about 3/4 of a mile, the trail will turn to the northeast and start a steady climb back to the
Yellow Trail. You'll be hiking through beautiful hardwood forests, with many chestnut oaks, and will have occasional views of the Atlanta skyline. The trail eventually intersects the
Yellow Trail not far from where you started.
Flora & Fauna
