Description

The Discovery Trail begins right behind the headquarters building on Tabor Road. It is about a mile long loop that starts and ends in grasslands where Bobolinks, Savannah Sparrows, and other grassland birds can be found.

It then proceeds on boardwalks through a hardwood forest on the edge of Maquam bog, much of which floods in the spring.

Make your way along oak islands and boardwalks for an opportunity to see deer, red fox, coyote, songbirds and birds of prey. Several species of warblers can be found here, and Northern Waterthrush, as well as Pileated Woodpeckers.

Flora & Fauna

Bobolinks, Savannah Sparrows, Northern Waterthrush, and Pileated Woodpeckers. Deer, red fox, and coyote can all be spotted here.
