Description
Miller Trail #534 is a short 2+ mile trail between the Timothy Lake Trail and the PCT. The trail starts at the Timothy Lake Trail near its intersection with the Shoreline Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) and Road 57. The trail parallels Forest Road 57 as it heads southeast and then crosses the road 1/2 mile in.
Miller Trail then skirts a plantation before edging around the historic Clackamas Lake Historic Guard Station where they filmed scenes of the movie "Wild" about the Pacific Crest Trail. Tours of this historic ranger station may be available.
After 1.2 miles, the trail crosses Forest Road 48, heads into the woods and then crosses the access road into the Clackamas Lake Campground. At that point,
Miller Trail follows the south side of the campground before heading north to the headwaters of the Clackamas River on the east side of Clackamas Lake. A short distance after crossing the creek, you hit the end of the
Miller Trail at the intersection with the Pacific Crest Trail. The
Headwaters Trail #522 continues on the other side of the PCT.
Flora & Fauna
The trail passes through large Douglas fir, mountain hemlock and large western red cedars. Huckleberries can found in the fall.
