Description

This is one of a number of trails in Griffith Park that skirts a ridgeline with many beautiful views and tough climbs along the way. The East Ridge (Hogback) Trail starts south of Glendale Peak at the eastern junction with the Riverside Trail.

The trail begins gradually as it circumnavigates Glendale Peak around the south and west slopes. Continuing north, you'll pass Henry's Trail, which is a short spur to the top of Glendale Peak. From this intersection, the East Ridge Trail heads northwest for three-quarters of a mile, passing the turn off for the Lower Mount Hollywood Trail, which accesses Dante's View.

The trail comes to its end at a junction with a larger fire road and the Mount Hollywood Summit Trail.
