Description

The Deerfield Nature Trail provides visitors to Catoctin with a fantastic opportunity to get out and observe all the local forests have to offer along a convenient, sub-1 mile loop. Along the way, numerous trail signs signal important aspects of forest ecology and the local history. Be sure to pick up a copy of the Deerfield Nature Trail Brochure at the trailhead for fully detailed ecological and historical information.

Confusingly, the parking area for this trail is in the Amphitheater Lot east of the trailhead. Park at the amphitheater and follow the road west until the trailhead appears on your left after campsite #30.
