Overview

This trail follows the Natchez Trace, though mostly out-of-sight. The trail is usually easy to find, but often overgrown. Expect to cross wide, shallow creeks several times, sometimes even getting your feet wet.

Description

This trail goes from the War of 1812 Memorial and heads south along the Natchez Trace. The trail goes along farms and creeks as you get to the Burns Branch picnic area. From there, the trail follows the river and then takes you up to the ridge. You reach the Tennessee Valley Divide just after passing under the interstate. This was a great trail with easy-to-cross creeks, good elevation change, and little traffic.
