Description

Starting at the triple junction with the Tahoe Rim Trail Connector and the end of the TRT: Spooner to Kingsbury segment, follow the trail as it begins a rolling descent through established coniferous forests to a junction with the Castle Rock Trail. Continue through the junction, descending across the Burke Creek drainage, through more dense woodlands, until finally reaching a series of road crossings.

Be very careful when crossing roads, both in neighborhoods and at the major crossing of Kingsbury Grade Road, as sight lines are extremely limited.

After crossing Kingsbury Grade Road, follow the trail as it switchbacks its way up a forested hillside, occasionally opening to views of Heavenly Valley, until reaching a junction with the Tahoe Rim Trail - Kingsbury South Trailhead Connector and the trail's end.

I think this is the last section hike I can do as a day hike other than my planned 88 to 50 with a shuttle. — 5h 00m
