This trail affords views to the west and north of the Aiguilles Rouges, a direction that gets ignored most of the time as it's hard not to fixate on the Mont Blanc massif.

From the top of the lift, take the major road through the ski area until you can take the trail off to the left. Enjoy high-alpine bliss, thankfully away from the bulldozed ski runs and enjoy the tranquil valley below and the high mountains off in the distance.

Come back up in altitude just a little bit and pass through the Col du Brevent, returning you to the Chamonix valley. A few easy switchbacks and the never-ending views will keep you entertained as you finish up at the Planpraz lift center.
