Be mindful of precarious switchbacks, but the journey isn't too long and provides a scenic waterfall that the whole family will love.
Description
Cornet Falls is an amazing and quick trail that starts from the north end of Aspen Street. At the trailhead, head right to access the trail. Do not cross over the Cornet Creek Bridge (that will take you up the Jud Weibe Trail )
You follow Cornet Creek up to Cornet Falls, which is frozen and ice-climbed in winter, and flowing beautifully for a perfect picnic in summer. Nestled in a redrock cliff, this waterfall is a true site to see and enjoy. Once you've had your fill of the falls, head back the way that you came, and be careful descending the steep trail.
NOTE: This trail, while intermediate, is steep and slightly technical in places.
Flora & Fauna
You'll pass mostly through a pine forest, though there is a small grove of aspen trees near the trailhead.
