Description

The Badlands Trail continues on with nearly identical terrain to the Honeybee Canyon Loop and does provide some additional scenic vistas. Start this trail near the northern end of the Honeybee Canyon Loop as you head up past the first cattle guard. You'll see the path leading on the right hand side. It's nearly all singletrack, with a few modest climbs here and there but mostly just some dips up and down through washes.

It does have a little less traffic and feels a bit more remote but the trail conditions are nearly identical to those found on the Honeybee Canyon Loop. Follow along the trail map using the Hiking Project mobile app the first time as there are a few additional paths and some road crossings, but mostly it's pretty easy to follow the singletrack.

This trail is a great way to add some additional mileage to your longer outings.

Flora & Fauna

All the usual desert creatures are found out here, including lizards and the occasional coyote. Watch out for snakes as always.
