Description

Access this doubletrack from Hwy 101 near the bridge across Redwood Creek in Orick. Look for the parking area just north of Orick School and Gym off Drydens Rd.

Heading northeast along the creek, the trail is level for the first 1.2 miles. After bending to the right (east) with the creek, the trail begins its steep, switchback ascent up the top of the ridge. After 2.3 miles, the trail forks; head in either direction as you'll return on whichever leg you don't choose.

Along this loop section, the trail passes the McArthur Creek Loop at two different times. Returning to the intersection, you'll retrace your steps back to the starting point.
