Description

Access this trail from the southern trailhead past the gate off Hamilton Road or the northern trailhead at a locked gate approximately 0.2 miles past the end of the pavement on the west end of Howland Hill Road off the Mill Creek Horse Trail.

From the southern end, this trail starts off with a short climb and descent before starting into a tough, half-mile climb through a thickly forested ridge. As the trail levels off, you'll come to the final short push to the top, reaching just under 1000' above sea level. Near the top, look for breaks in the trees for beautiful views over Crescent City harbor and beyond.

This trail is named after the Miller-Rellim timber company which was one of the larger logging operations in the area at the turn of the 19th century.

Flora & Fauna

Alder, spruce, and young Douglas-fir mixed with maple and tanoak.
